| Bushfire attack level (AS 3959) | BAL-29 How this was readMarketing claim backed by a CSIRO Certificate of Assessment, but it is NOT an AS 1530.8.1 deck test. GRM claims the BioDeck "premium range" is deemed acceptable to withstand exposure up to BAL-29 as bushfire-resisting timber under AS 3959:2009 Appendix F. The only test document found is CSIRO Certificate of Assessment No. 1775A (issued 1 Dec 2014, superseding No. 1775 of 18 Jan 2013): heat-release test per AS 3959:2009 App F after ASTM D 2898 Method B weathering, tested 15 Jan 2013; specimen = extruded wood flour/PVC/calcium carbonate decking board, nominal 27 mm thick, 20 kg/m2, light brown; maximum heat release rate 44.9 kW/m2 and 10-minute average 25.6 kW/m2. The certificate states no subframe, board gap, clip or profile conditions and names no profile, grade or hollow/solid section. GRM's table ticks "Premium Grade: BAL-29 Rated" for DB14028 and DBE14028 only (not DB30032, DB15340 or Big Board). Report number mismatch: certificate text cites investigation report FNK 11207, while the file name and CSIRO advisory FCO-5533 (28 Oct 2022, valid to 31 Oct 2027, cited in the cladding CodeMark certificate) cite FNK 10741 for the 15 Jan 2013 AS/NZS 3837 test at 25 kW/m2. Warranty
| Fact | Published value | Source · checked |
|---|---|---|
| Warranty, residential | 15 years How this was readSingle 15-year term from date of purchase. The warranty text does not distinguish residential from commercial use, so it is recorded as residential only; the Premium brochure and Big Board brochure also say "15 years" / "serviceable 15 years limited warranty". | Green Resources Material warranty · checked |
| Warranty conditions | Single limited warranty from date of purchase covering manufacturing defects: cracking, splitting, swelling, rotting, flaking or peeling, water/moisture and termite damage. Colour and gloss change is not treated as wear (the text says about 10% colour fading per year is to be expected) and stains, scratches, indentation, installation and transit damage are excluded. Products must be installed, coated and maintained per Biowood current specifications and the BCA, with suitable fixings and coatings. Claim in writing with proof of purchase within 30 days of the defect becoming apparent; remedy is replacement or refund of the defective product (not installation or logistics cost). The text is governed by Australian and New Zealand law. How this was readParaphrased from the "15 Year Limited Warranty" in the colours-and-finishes PDF. The PDF is undated (server Last-Modified 2022-01-25) and is not specific to decking. | Green Resources Material warranty · checked |

Facts are taken from the highest-ranked source (certificates and test reports, then install guides and datasheets, then warranties, then web pages); when sources disagree the specification says so, and safety facts take the conservative value. Every plan the designer draws from these figures is a concept plan, not for construction: the span tables behind its framing have been checked by a structural engineer, but a builder, building surveyor or certifier must check the plan before you build.
